Moonstone Midwifery offers expert prenatal, birth, and postpartum care for low risk women the Des Moines area. Care is initiated after a complimentary early pregnancy (prior to 10 weeks) consult, risk analysis, and a review of all past birth and current medical records. Our global care fee is $6800 and covers all prenatal visits, home birth, and postpartum care visits. This fee is divided into an easy payment schedule which will be reviewed at your initial consult. Billing statements are provided following your final postpartum visit for self submission to insurance for reimbursement if desired.
We pride ourselves on patient centered, compassionate care. All appointments are between 30-90 minutes in length to allow for adequate time to assess all of mom's needs during her care. We will continually assess both physical and mental wellbeing, discuss your plans and hopes for your birth, and hold space for all concerns as well as celebrations. Starting at 37 weeks, our team will be on call 24/7 for your labor and home birth. We accept a very limited number of deliveries each month in order to provide the best care possible to our clients, and to ensure that we are able to attend every birth.
Transfers from hospital or other home base providers are accepted on a case by case basis depending on monthly availability. Please contact us as soon as possible for a consult to discuss this option.
Well woman care, family planning services, and women's health services are also available. Fees for these services will be discussed prior to any appointments, and patients will be accepted on a case by case basis depending on availability.
